Is Marvin now just a puddle of goo?
so real quick, i know this comes up now and then and i've looked over some of the posts from the past but here's the thing.. when i was a jw i drank all the cool aid, i was 100% and so i have all my own arguments (from the jw's) for why the bible is inspired.
i no longer believe this but i'd really like to read something that is pretty much 100% academic on this subject.
i want to read what scholars have to say about the authenticity of the bible and it's claim at being the inspired word of god.
Please read "The History of Everything & Stuff" by the infamous apostate "Farkel".

a couple weeks back my husband got a phone call from his brother, whom he hasn’t spoken to in nearly 17 years.
well i take that back, he did speak to him at the family reunion, asking him to leave.
my husband basically told him to f off, he would leave when he’s darn good and ready, but he didn’t use the word darn.
Tameria2001 asked, "But I do want to do something that would put the fear of God (or the devil) in those people’s hearts and mind, and doing so without saying a single word. Any ideas on how or what I can do, and still be the sweet little self that I am? "
If there is a store near you that specializes in "occult" items (or a "head shop"), get an "eye pendant."
The more realistic the eye is, the better the effect will be.
I think you might see some of those folks really flip out.
it appears there is about a million voting age jws in the us right now.
it appears there is 8 million ex jws or in the shadows.. if those 8 million would have the guts to come out for a presidential candidate to come out, we can finally end the slavery, tyranny and corruption in this and many other circles.. cowards die many times but a hero only dies once.
and cowards die in revelation.. so, to you reading this, are you a coward or a true steward of the earth and creation?.
O Simon! Come on! This was starting to become FUN!

If I understand this correctly, you want billions and billions of XJWs to support your mystery man, whose claim to fame is that his grandfather once handed General Eisenhower a transcribed radio transmission.
(At 3:30 p.m. on May 7, 1945, it was Gregory Melikian who was chosen to announce the unconditional surrender of Germany and the end of WWII in Europe.)
Anyone who responds positively to your campaign should be immediately disqualified from voting in any election held within the USA.
WHY is it so important that you keep the identity of your CANDIDATE (Gregory Melikian? Robert Melikian? Richard Melikian? James Melikian?) a mystery?
Let us share the awe and marvel you hold for this winner of the genetic lottery! After all, not everyone can be a direct, if distant, relative of a man who once stood near a FAMOUS PERSON.
Let's get some transparency here! I eagerly await your reply.
By the way, the eggs I had for breakfast this morning were located less than 45 rotational degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon. I call all my bacon "Kevin."
PS -
Eisenhower was born in Texas and grew up in Kansas. How did you get Pennsylvania into the picture?
...hope to enjoy everlasting life and witness the resurrection, things unseen by the world.
like the philosophers of paul’s day who called him an ignorant “chatterer,” most people today think that the hope we preach is sheer nonsense.
(acts 17:18) .
Yes.
Yes we do.
i've read many statements on this forum from people who have expressed the sentiment that you don't shove ttatt down the throat of an older person.
it would be too traumatic and its best to let some people, in some situations, simply pass on in the delusion.. its humane.
merciful.. in the initial roar of my awakening, i was unable to cuddle up to that sentiment; preferring, instead, to shove the blood curdling shock of truth down the throat of anyone i could get my grip on... age be dammed.
So far it seems that people feel this is a binary situation: either grant the man's religious wishes (and thus be "good"; I mean "bad") or engage him full-on in a vigorous unyielding debate about the existence of his imaginary invisible friends (and thus be "bad"; I mean "good").
Fortunately as an atheist you have no Judge that you must account to, and that includes me, so I won't judge you either.
You did what you did. It was neither good nor bad. Tomorrow is another day.
hello everyone, it's been quite a while since i was last on this forum.
originally i was under a different user name, but lost all that information when i moved to a different state.
anyways, i had left the jws back in 2001, after being raised up in it most of my childhood life.
Go and when "the appointed time" comes, refuse to leave. Explain that those judgmental JWs are not Christians and that no one appointed the as chief morality officer for all the non-JWs there. Let them know that you are in charge of your life, you take responsibility for your decisions, and you urge them to do likewise.
Bring the list of things that JWs are not allowed to do and begin reading it aloud as soon as you have made your statement. Be a voice for the voiceless and a defender of the intimidated. Be prepared to pop some bullies in the nose.
